Hi,

nice to meet you.

Permanent Equity exists to serve companies that are trying to figure out what happens next and are seeking a strong partner to support whatever is coming. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

We’re an investor. We invest in private, profitable companies. But we believe companies are collections of people. So while you may think introducing your company to us will rely on sending over a bunch of quantitative data (and that it is a component), the most critical part of figuring out if we can be helpful is getting to know you and your team.

There are lots of ways for companies and investors to meet, and no one perfect way. If you just want to set up a time to chat directly, please do.

But we also acknowledge that selling any amount of equity in a business is a major event. Most sellers want to be prepared and put their best forward. And neither group wants to waste each other’s time if there’s no deal to be done. So oftentimes, formality is introduced.

Some formality is helpful. As an example, organized financials are easier to review (though not always required). But other forms of formality inhibit our ability to fully appreciate a situation, and may delay your understanding of key factors in finding the right partner.

So we decided it may be helpful to share how Permanent Equity initially reviews an opportunity piece by piece. Our aim is that this information informs your decisions on what to share when, how much to invest in preparing materials, and how to ultimately build the best deal with the right partner for your company.

Two qualifiers:

  1. We can’t speak for other investors, but know enough of them well to be confident that we’re not offering up recommendations that will be detrimental in introductions elsewhere.

  2. Please read: What Business Owners Should Know About Investors

Our door is open. Even if we are ultimately not the right investor for your business, we’re happy to helpful in any way we can and hopefully become friends (and maybe get you to Main Street Summit). We look forward to getting to know you.

Let’s dig in on how we’ll look at your business:
