  • Lead recruiting and onboarding efforts

  • Manage employee relations and performance systems

  • Build and maintain HR policies, handbooks, and compliance tools

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll vendors

  • Support leadership with org planning and culture initiatives

  • Handle sensitive conversations and offboarding when needed

Core System Requirements

Excellent organization and time management

Strong problem-solving and adaptability under pressure

Clear communicator and natural collaborator

Familiar with project management tools (Asana, Trello, etc.)

Basic understanding of the domain they operate in (e.g., software, creative, manufacturing)

Bonus: certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum), budgeting experience

We’re seeking a Head of HR to help us scale intentionally—bringing structure, support, and great people into our orbit. You’ll build and oversee systems for hiring, development, and employee experience across the company.

Duties

  • Lead all hiring and onboarding processes

  • Develop HR systems and policies to support scale

  • Partner with leadership on org design and culture strategy

  • Manage compensation, benefits, and compliance programs

  • Serve as a trusted resource to managers and employees

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years in HR, including leadership experience

  • Deep understanding of employment law and HR compliance

  • Track record of hiring and developing great teams

  • Able to balance people-first thinking with business needs

  • Previous experience in a growing small business or startup a plus
